- Statisticians sometimes don't portray the entire picture of what an individual means to a team. But combine outstanding stats with dedication, positive attitude, leadership, and resulting earned respect and you have one of the finest players in UB Baseball history.
- Joe enjoyed a record-breaking career at UB, becoming the 1st player in Bulls history to reach 200 hits, finishing his career with 234, along with a .322 average.
- When he walked off the field the final time, no UB Baseball player had participated in more games (192), had more at-bats (729), scored more runs (136), and had more hits (234).
- In 2004, his most productive season, he had a then record 76 hits and scored 43 times (2nd, at the time), while amassing 109 total bases (also 2nd), including at MAC-high 5 triples and 14 doubles and he batted a hefty .349.
- Additionally, when Joe completed his career, he entered UB's all-time top 10 in RBIs (97, 4th), triples (12, 3rd), doubles (30, 5th), and games played (2nd).
- A 2 time tri-captain, as well as twice team MVP, Joe, just prior to the MLB draft, was ranked 16th in the Baseball America's scouting report of New York State players and was subsequently chosen by the New York Mets.
