- Induction:
- 2003
- Class:
- 1996
1991-94 (BA '94, MS '96)
- Clifford was a four-year starter at quarterback who went on to become the all-time leading offensive threat (by more than 2,000 yards) in UB team history with 8,479 yards.
- He was the UB career-passing leader who threw for 7,578 yards and rushed for another 901. No other UB QB threw more passes (1,101) or completed more (545) during his career.
- Clifford accounted for a team record 63 career touchdowns, throwing for 43 (missing the record by one TD toss), and rushing for another 20 (tied for fifth). He still holds the single-season record for total TDs with 27 and is tied for the highest number of TD passes with 18.
- At the time of his induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame, Cliff, who fired the first Bull's Division I pass in UB Stadium, ranked among the top ten in twenty-four career, single-season, and game offensive categories.
- Clifford's "career game" came against New Haven in 1992 when he threw for five TDs and threw a team record 490 yards. A year earlier, he was named the ECAC rookie of the year.
