2011: Stepped into the lineup right away and was a positive impact, starting 37 games... batted .273 with an impressive .455 slugging percentage and .354 on-base percentage... finished fourth on the team with five home runs... drove in 22 runs and scored 23 times... had 10 multi-hit games... had two hits and drove in three runs in the season opener against New Mexico State (2/26)... during an eight-game hitting streak from March 16-26, he batted .389 with four doubles, three home runs and nine RBI... will carry a five-game hitting streak into the 2012 season after ending last season with a .471 batting average (8-17), a home run and five RBI... had a double and solo home run in an 11-6 win over NC Central (3/19)... hit two doubles and drove in a run against Akron (5/1)... went 3-5 with an RBI double in a 3-2 extra-innings win over Bowling Green (5/21).
Previous School: Played for two seasons for coach Bill Angelo’s Elgin Community College, playing in the outfield... 2009 First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region... 2010 First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region... led the team to the 2009-10 Sectional Championships
High School: Was a two-time letter winner and captain for the Willowbrook Warriors... played 2nd base and pitched for head coach Steve Gilliam.
Personal: Born December 30, 1988... son of Joe and Bonnie... has one brother - Rob - and one sister - Jen... will major in sociology with the hopes of one day going into law enforcement... also enjoys playing golf... chose UB because of the academics and athletic facilities... his brother Rob pitches for the Colorado Rockies’ Class AA affiliate, the Tulsa Drilllers.
