Buffalo Athletics is proud to offer multiple giving pathways that allow you to support the Bulls in a way that aligns with your financial goals — all while counting toward your Bulls Championship Fund (BCF) membership and Blue & White recognition levels.
Matching Gifts
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs that can double or even triple your gift to Buffalo Athletics. If your company offers a matching program, be sure to take advantage — it's an easy way to increase your impact on our student-athletes without giving more out of pocket.
Gifts of Stock
Gifts of appreciated securities, such as stocks or mutual funds held for over a year, can be one of the most tax-smart ways to give. You may receive a charitable deduction for the fair market value while avoiding capital gains tax. These gifts are easy to transfer and provide immediate support for the Bulls.
IRA Charitable Rollover
If you’re age 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free distribution from your IRA directly to Buffalo Athletics through the UB Foundation. These gifts can count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD), and they can be directed to any BCF initiative — including scholarships, sport excellence funds, and more. Please note that IRA rollover gifts cannot be used to secure priority seating benefits per IRS guidelines.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
DAFs offer flexibility and tax benefits. You can recommend a grant from your DAF to support Buffalo Athletics through the BCF — though, similar to IRA gifts, these grants cannot be used to receive benefits such as tickets or hospitality access. Donors may choose to be recognized or remain anonymous.
Planned Giving
Make your impact last for generations. Whether it’s a bequest in your will, a charitable gift annuity, or a trust, planned gifts allow you to support Buffalo Athletics while also meeting your estate planning and financial needs. Planned gifts often come with significant tax advantages and can include:
Bequests through a will or trust
Gifts of retirement assets
Charitable gift annuities or trusts
Gifts of life insurance policies or real estate
Regardless of how you give, your commitment helps lay the foundation for long-term success for our student-athletes — both on and off the field.
