
Bulls Continue Cross Country Season on Friday at Penn State Spiked Shoe Invite

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo cross country program is continuing its season at Penn State University's Spiked Shoe Invitational on Friday, competing against regional and nationally ranked competition. The Bulls aim to continue their momentum following a pair of wins at the Rodenbeck Invitational.
The Bulls opened the season at St. John Fisher University, with the women's program winning the 4k race for the second consecutive season. The Buffalo women earned seven of the top 16 spots, including Meghana Reddy's first-place finish (15:08.7) in a field of 108 runners. Megan Smith (2nd, 15:30.0) and Ella Reilly (3rd, 15:30.4) trailed closely to give the Bulls the top three finishers.
The Buffalo men continued the program's momentum and won their 6k race, led by Cameron Bogdan who earned first place of 92 runners (19:18.0). The Bulls had six runners place inside the top 10, including freshmen Evan Feider (3rd, 19.41.9), Gage Feider (4th, 19:51.6), Andrew Green (5th, 19:56.1), Caleb Feider (6th, 20:01.1) and Ethan Verbosky (10th, 20:09.3).
The men will run an 8.3k course on Friday. The program returns to Penn State, where they finished seventh of 10 teams last season. The 2025 field featured seven regionally ranked programs and one nationally ranked program. The men's field in 2026 has five regionally ranked teams of the eight set to compete, and one nationally ranked program in Syracuse (13th).
The Buffalo women will be running a 6k race on Friday at Penn State. The program placed fifth of the 10 teams at the Spiked Shoe Invite in 2025. The Bulls finished ahead of two regionally ranked programs in St Joseph's (14th) and Monmouth (15th). The women's field in 2026 features nine teams, with six of them ranked regionally and Penn State ranked nationally (10th).
