BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (17-20, 6-6 MAC) lost to the Miami (OH) RedHawks (26-10, 8-4 MAC) on Saturday afternoon, 9-0. Miami won the series in the decisive game three at Nan Harvey Field.
In front of friends, family and their fury friends, it was packed at Nan Harvey Field for the Bulls' annual Bark in the Park game. Miami went down in order to start the game. Reagan Terwilliger recorded the first hit of the game with a single to left center. The Bulls put the ball in play, but the RedHawks got out of the inning unscathed.
The top of the second wasn't too kind to the Bulls. Miami's offense exploded starting with a lead-off solo home run. After a single, back-to-back errors loaded the bases. An RBI single gave Miami a 2-0 lead. Following a strikeout, a single through the right side scored two more runs to make it 4-0. After forcing a pitching change, the RedHawks took an 8-0 lead.
Miami added to the lead in the third to make it 9-0. Buffalo had no answers at the plate as they finished with just one hit.
The Bulls are back in action on Tuesday when they play the UMass Minutewomen on the road for a three-game series.
