Bulls Fall to UCF on Final Day of the Black & Gold Classic

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University at Buffalo softball team (2-3, 0-0 MAC) lost to the UCF Knights on Sunday afternoon, 12-2.
GAME 5 AT UCF
The Bulls reached base in the first inning as Emily Gorman, Reagan Terwilliger and Lily Lauck each earned walks with Nicole Allen drilling a single up the middle. Bri Delaney reached base on a fielder's choice that scored Terwilliger. After taking the lead, the Knights took the lead as they scored three runs on two hits and an error.
Trailing 3-1 in the top of the second, Ava Thelen hit her second career home run with a solo shot to left field to cut UCF's lead to 3-2. Unfortunately, that was the closest the game would get as the Knights scored five runs in the bottom of the second to take an 8-2 lead.
The Knights added four runs in the third as the Bulls did not have a response. UCF won the contest after five innings, 12-2.
The Bulls are back in action at the Pirate Clash hosted by East Carolina starting Friday.
