GAME 3 VS. HOFSTRA
After a scoreless first, the Pride got on the board courtesy of the long ball as a two-run homer gave them a 2-0 lead. They added to their lead in the third inning off an RBI-double.
Trailing 3-0, the Bulls got on the board as Ardyn Hopf hit a sac fly to left that scored Reagan Terwilliger. Now trailing 3-1, the script flipped in the fourth. They took advantage of an Ava Thelen walk and a Tabitha von Kolen hit by pitch. Emily Gorman hit an RBI-double to center that scored Thelen. With runners in scoring position, Terwilliger ripped an RBI single to center that scored von Kolen and put runners on the corners. Forcing a pitching change, back-to-back walks put the Bulls in front, 4-3. With the bases loaded, Hopf hit another sac fly that scored Terwilliger to go up 5-3.
In the sixth, the Bulls still held a 5-3 lead, but a home run by Hofstra made it a one run game. Timely hits put Hofstra in front as a 2-RBI single gave them the lead which was followed by an RBI double.
Trailing 7-5 in the bottom of the sixth, the Bulls threatened. Bella Smithson worked a walk followed by Hopf hitting a double to left center. With runners in scoring position, the inning ended on a double play. Lily Lauck flew out to center and Smithson was out trying to tag up on the play.
Hofstra added an insurance run in the top of the seventh on a sac fly. von Kolen was the only one to record a hit in the bottom of the seventh as Hofstra won, 8-5.
GAME 4 AT JAMES MADISON
It was a tough go in their second game of the day. James Madison didn't waste time to get on the board as an RBI single gave them the 1-0 lead. The next batter then drilled a three-run homer to center to jump in front 4-0. The Dukes' bats weren't done as they recorded another single. After a hit by pitch, another three-run home run gave them a 7-0 lead.
In the top of the second, the Bulls answered. Nicole Allen reached first on an error as Abbey Nagel single through the right side. Ava Thelen then singled to shortstop, but a throwing error advanced the runners as Allen put the Bulls on the board. Emily Gorman grounded out to shortstop, but it was enough to score Nagel from third. Reagen Terwilliger stayed hot at the dish as she recorded an RBI single to make it 7-3.
James Madison responded in the bottom half of the inning. A two-run home run and an RBI single gave them a 10-3 lead. They padded their lead in the bottom of the third with three home runs to lead 14-3.
Buffalo had no answer for the Dukes as James Madison defended their home field.
