BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo track and field program is continuing the indoor season at the 2026 Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invite this Friday and Saturday. The two-day meet features national competition annually, with only select qualified athletes able to participate.
DAY ONE
The men's events at Boston University are scheduled to begin on Friday at 9 a.m. The Buffalo men look to continue their momentum, already adding 16 new performances to the UB indoor record book this season.
Michael Parks begins the weekend by competing in the 60-meter hurdles preliminary round on Friday at 9:10 a.m. Parks set a new personal best time of 7.93 seconds in the event last week at Kent State. The performance ranks third in program indoor history and third in the Mid-American Conference this season.
Keoni Chong, Kala'i Leahey-Makanani, Malachi Taylor and Rylee VanAlstine are all expected to compete in the men's 400-meter open scheduled for 9:50 a.m. The group of underclassmen have made strides in the event this season, with Chong (9th, 48.81) and Taylor (10th, 48.88) both registering UB indoor record book performances. Additionally, all four athletes rank inside the top 20 in the conference this season, with Chong (9th) and Taylor (10th) ranking top 10.
Aidan Norris, Vincent Guaresimo and Noah Brightman are scheduled to compete in the men's mile at 1:20 p.m. The trio entered new performances into the UB indoor rankings this season, with Norris taking fourth (4:07.62), Guaresimo in seventh (4:09.97) and Brightman at ninth (4:10.58). The three Buffalo runners all rank inside the top 10 in the MAC this season too.
