Bulls Fall to No. 25 Dayton

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The Buffalo Bulls volleyball team (2-2, 0-0 MAC) fell to the #25 Dayton Flyers (3-2, 0-0 Atlantic 10) to open the Marquette Invite, 16-25, 16-25, 19-25.
Emerson Matthews led the Bulls with 12 kills and 13 digs as she has now recorded back-to-back double-doubles. Manoela Forlin finished the night with 10 kills, an ace and three assists. She's the only Bull on the team to have 10+ kills in every match of the season. Sydney Bell tied her career-high in blocks with three.
The Flyers managed to get 11 aces on the night to Buffalo's four.
SET 1
It was an offensive struggle for both teams as Dayton outhit the Bulls, .120 to -.032. UB took an early 2-0 lead as they forced a pair of errors by the Flyers. Dayton tied the set before Buffalo taking a 7-5 lead, but that would be the last lead they'd hold in the set.
SET 2
The offenses improved in the second set, but the Flyers still held a .424 to .237 hitting percentage advantage. Dayton was error free on the attack as they had 14 kills on 33 attempts.
SET 3
The Bulls managed to get a lead in every set on the night, but couldn't hold off the nationally ranked Flyers. Dayton just edged UB, 11-10, in kills in the set, as the Bulls had 14 total errors in the set.

The Bulls will battle the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET.
