Bulls Travel to Oxford, Ohio for Three-Game Series Against Miami

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (17-30, 10-14 MAC) will battle the Miami (OH) RedHawks (28-23, 17-7 MAC) on the road to close out the regular season. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday for a doubleheader. The series will come to a close at noon on Sunday.
On the season, freshman Emily Gorman leads the Bulls with a .418 batting average which is good for second in the MAC and 69th in the NCAA. Her .511 on base percentage is second in the MAC and 65th in the NCAA. Junior first baseman Abbey Nagel leads the team with 51 hits, including a team-high 8 home runs and 20 extra base hits. Freshman Isabella Smithson is up to 5 dingers and a team-high 35 RBIs on the season. Lily Lauck is the program's single season walks leader with 37 this season. Her 0.79 walks per game are 23rd in the country and second in the MAC. Reagan Terwilliger has been a demon on the basepaths this season. She tied the single season program record for most triples in a season with 5. Her 5 triples are also tied for fifth in program history for most triples in a career. She also leads the team with 17 stolen bases, good for fourth in the MAC.
In their final home games of the season, the Bulls split their doubleheader against the Akron Zips on Wednesday afternoon. Akron came away with a 5-3 win in game one, but the Bulls bounced back with a 2-0 win. In the win, both Abbey Nagel and Emily Gorman hit solo home runs to propel the Bulls over the Zips. Olivia Russ continued to dominate in the circle as she threw a complete game shutout striking out 3 Zips.

STREAK: Miami 17
NOTES: The RedHawks enter the weekend with an overall record of 28-23 and 17-7 in MAC play, good for second in the conference. Miami has had their way against the Bulls over the last few years as they've won 17 straight games against Buffalo. The Bulls' last win over Miami was on May 4, 2018, in a 7-3 decision.
