Bulls Host Central Michigan for Weekend Series

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (5-20, 2-4 MAC) will look to get back in the win column as they host the Central Michigan Chippewas (11-15, 3-2 MAC) for a weekend series. The series is set to begin on Friday at 3 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. pending weather conditions. All three games will be streamed on the UB Bulls YouTube Channel.
The Bulls are coming off a rough performance at Ohio last weekend as they were swept by the Bobcats. Emily Gorman, Abbey Nagel and Mia Mitchell led the team with 2 hits apiece. Ardyn Hopf hit her second career triple in the third game of the series.
On the season, freshman Emily Gorman leads the Bulls with a .400 batting average with a team-high 28 hits and 14 runs scored. Gorman also leads the team with a .500 on base percentage, but Lily Lauck is just behind with a .456 percentage. Lauck has a team-high 19 walks. Isabella Smithson leads the team with 17 RBIs. Mia Mitchell leads the team with 10 extra base hits as Abbey Nagel has 5 doubles thus far.

NOTES: The Bulls and Chippewas met last season for a three-game series in Mount Pleasant. Central Michigan swept the Bulls, 9-0, 3-0 and 8-0 on their home field. The Bulls have lost their last 8 meetings to the Chippewas as their last win came on April 29, 2022, in a tight 7-5 win.
