Bulls Back in Action at 22nd Annual Georgia Classic

BUFFALO, N.Y. – After a week off due to the James Madison Invitational getting canceled, the University at Buffalo softball team (1-4, 0-0 MAC) is back in action at the 22nd Annual Georgia Classic.
The Bulls' schedule this weekend will be as followed:

To open the season, the Bulls competed at the UNLV Desert Classic. The Bulls' offense was led by Lily Lauck and freshman Emily Gorman. Lauck went 5-for-10 with 6 RBIs, a run scored, 4 walks and a hit by pitch. She led the team with a .667 on base percentage. Gorman hit .438 on the weekend going 7-for-16 at the dish with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored, 2 RBIs, 2 walks and 3 stolen bases on 3 attempts. Alyssa Wasielewski and Mia Mitchell also had 5 hits apiece at the UNLV Desert Classic.
GAMES 1 AND 2
Buffalo at No. 9 Georgia
SERIES: Georgia leads, 4-0
NOTES: This will be the fifth all-time meeting between the Bulls and Bulldogs. In every meeting, Georgia was nationally ranked. March 9, 2007, was the first game against Georgia where the No. 21 Bulldogs took down the Bulls, 9-0. Georgia ranked No. 2 in the country on Feb. 18, 2011, as they went on to an 8-0 win. The following season on the same date, Georgia was 14th in the nation and defeated the Bulls, 8-0. In their last meeting in 2019, the Bulldogs were ranked ninth and won 14-1.
GAME 3
Buffalo vs. Syracuse
SERIES: Syracuse leads, 12-4
NOTES: The Bulls and Orange last met on April 6, 2021, in Syracuse. The Orange swept the Bulls in the doubleheader, 6-2 and 9-1. Syracuse has won the last five meetings dating back to the 2009 season. Buffalo's last win came on March 24, 2009, in a 5-3 decision.
GAME 4
Buffalo vs. Utah Valley
SERIES: Utah Valley leads, 1-0
NOTES: The Wolverines defeated the Bulls in their only meeting on March 7, 2008, at the Lynn Russell Miller Classic hosted by UC Riverside. Utah Valley won 8-6 in 8 innings.
GAME 5
Buffalo vs. App State
SERIES: Buffalo leads, 2-1
NOTES: The last game between the Bulls and Mountaineers was at the Mercer University Tournament on Feb. 10, 2018. The Bulls won the contest, 5-2. The previous meeting came in 2007 at the Florida State Invitational where the Mountaineers came out with a 5-3 win. The first meeting was at the Georgia Invitational in 2004 where Buffalo pulled out a 6-5 win.
