Kwak Named MAC Diver of the Week For The Fifth Time This Season

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced on Wednesday that Marialis Kwak of the University at Buffalo swimming and diving team was selected as this week's MAC Diver of the Week. The senior diver has now won the award five times this season.
Kwak had another strong weekend in the diving well as the Bulls hosted the defending MAC Champion Zips. The senior won both the one-meter (294.45) and the three-meter (341.03) against Akron. Kwak has now won all 13 individual diving competitions she's competed in this season. All results from the meet against Akron can be found here.
The senior continues to enter historic territory, now joining Victoria Franz as the only two student-athletes in program history to earn the conference honor five times or more in one season. Franz holds the program record, earning the award six times in 2023-24. Kwak has the chance to tie Franz's single-season program record with one meet to go this season ahead of conference championships. No other female diver in the conference has won the weekly honor more than twice this season.
The Bulls are on the road for their final meet of the regular season on Friday, January 31st and Saturday, February 1st in a tri-meet at Toledo and Bowling Green.
