BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer head coach Shawn Burke announced the signing of Oklahoma transfer Koby Commandant on Monday.
"Koby will bring such a dynamic presence to our midfield," said Burke. "A tireless worker on both sides of the ball, we expect a big impact right away."
Commandant, a 5-5 midfielder from Rockwood, Ontario, comes to Buffalo after two years at Oklahoma. Prior to her time in Norman, Commandant played two seasons at Syracuse, where she appeared and started in 34 matches while logging over 2,000 minutes for the Orange, and recording a goal and an assist as a sophomore.
Prior to college, Commandant was a four-sport athlete at John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational Institute competing in soccer, basketball, field hockey, and dodgeball. A two-time team captain of the soccer team, she was a two-time district soccer champion and was named her school's Junior Athlete of the Year and Basketball MVP. She also played for the Burlington Bayhawks Youth Soccer Club.
