Bulls Face Big 4 Rival Canisius for Wednesday Doubleheader

BUFFALO, N.Y. β The University at Buffalo softball team (15-28, 7-15 MAC) will travel across town to face the Canisius Golden Griffins (19-19, 14-9 MAAC) for their final non-conference games of the season. The doubleheader will begin at 3 p.m. at the Demske Sports Complex. Game coverage can be seen on ESPN+.

The Bulls are 23-35 (.397) all-time against the Golden Griffins. The last time the Big 4 rivals squared off, the Bulls won their doubleheader in 2018. Buffalo has won three of the last four meetings.

Buffalo enters the weekend with a 15-28 record and are 7-15 in MAC play. Last weekend the Bulls were swept by the Ohio Bobcats. The Bulls are being led offensively by Alexis Lucyshyn with a .298 batting average and 25 RBIs. Madison Fernimen leads the team with 40 hits and 26 runs scored. Mia Mitchell has hit the long ball eight times on the season.

In the circle, Lucyshyn is 8-13 with a 3.55 ERA as she has struck out 146 batters in 128.1 innings pitched. She needs just seven strikeouts for 500 in her storied career.
