Bulls Travel to Central Michigan for Weekend Series Against the Chippewas

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (12-20, 4-7 MAC) will travel to Mount Pleasant, Mich. for a weekend series against the Central Michigan Chippewas (7-24, 4-5 MAC). First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Bulls are 15-22-1 (.408) all-time against the Chippewas. Central Michigan has won the last five games against the Bulls.
Buffalo enters the weekend with an 12-20 record and are 4-7 in MAC play. Last weekend the Bulls went 1-2 against the Ball State Cardinals. The Bulls are being led offensively by fifth year Alexis Lucyshyn, who is batting .296 with 29 hits. She's also added a team-high 21 RBIs. Madison Fernimen leads the team with 30 hits as Abbey Nagel has 29 hits on the season. On the basepaths, Mia Mitchell is 9-for-9 on stolen base attempts this season. As a team, UB is 28-29 on stolen base attempts.
In the circle, Lucyshyn is 8-8 with a 2.60 ERA as she has struck out 114 batters in 99.2 innings pitched.
The Chippewas are 7-24 on the season and hold a 4-5 conference record. On Wednesday, the Chippewas lost to the Michigan Wolverines, 5-0. Last weekend they went 1-2 against the Western Michigan Broncos. Offensively, they're led by Carly Sleeman who holds a .277 batting average and 18 RBIs. Pitching has ben a struggle for the Chippewas as they allow 4.23 earned runs and allow a .296 opposing batting average.
Following this weekend's series, the Bulls will host the Kent State Golden Flashes on Tuesday for a doubleheader.
