Bulls Begin #MACtion at Bowling Green on Friday

BUFFALO, N.Y. β The University at Buffalo softball team (8-11, 0-0 MAC) is set to begin MAC play at Bowling Green (1-13, 0-0 MAC) on Friday afternoon. The Bulls and Falcons will then play a double header on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

Buffalo enters the weekend with an 8-11 record as they competed at the Hail Southern Classic hosted by Georgia Southern last week. The Bulls are being led offensively by fifth year Alexis Lucyshyn, who is batting .356 with 21 hits. She's also added a team-high 13 RBIs and slugging percentage of .542. On the basepaths, Mia Mitchell is 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts this season. Abbey Nagel has helped the Bulls' offense as she has seven doubles thus far.

In the circle, Lucyshyn is 5-4 with a 1.67 ERA as she has struck out 77 batters in 54.1 innings pitched. Her 9.9 strikeouts per seven innings is 12th best in the country. With a 5.92 strikeout-to-walk ratio, she's 34th in the NCAA. Last weekend, Lucyshyn threw the program's sixth no-hitter in a 1-0 victory of Winthrop.
The Falcons are 1-13 on the season and have lost their last 13 contests. The Bulls swept Bowling Green last season. Offensively, they're led by Reagan Williamson who holds a .385 batting average. She also leads the team with 15 hits on the season. Pitching has been a struggle as the Falcons hold a 7.14 ERA compared to their opponents' 2.31 ERA. They also allow opponents to have a .320 batting average.

Following this weekend, the Bulls will host the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Tuesday, March 19 on the new turf at Nan Harvey Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
