
Hislop Joins UB Indoor Mile Record Books at Akron Campbell Invitational

AKRON, OHIO – Members of the University at Buffalo Track and Field team competed in the Akron Campbell Invitational on Friday night as final preparations for Mid-American Conference Championships next weekend.
Alex Hislop highlighted the night for the Bulls running a 4:11.99 mile. Hislop enters the UB indoor all-time top ten leaderboard with his new personal best time, taking the tenth spot. Noah Brightman (4th, 4:12.26) and Jacob Brink (9th, 4:16.33) also posted personal best times in the mile, falling in just behind Hislop. Cory Demo (13th, 4:17.61) and William Marchant (18th, 4:19.53) finished inside the top twenty for the Bulls, putting all five Buffalo runners in the top twenty finishers across a field of 42 runners.
The second event for the Bulls was the men's 800 meter. Gabe Watson placed second and ran an indoor personal best time of 1:54.01. Freshman Danzil Monk Jr. was also impressive, placing sixth with a personal best time (1:55.59).

"This meet served as a tune-up before MAC Championships for many of the athletes," said Head Coach Vicki Mitchell. "With less than one week to the MAC Championships, the focus is on staying healthy and taking the steps needed to be prepared to compete at Eastern Michigan University."
MAC Championships begin next Friday, February 23rd and conclude on Saturday, February 24th.
