Bulls Conclude Big 4 Action Against St. Bonaventure on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team (6-0) looks to complete the Big 4 sweep for the second straight year as they welcome the St. Bonaventure Bonnies to Alumni Arena on Kids Day at 2pm.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Howard Simon (play-by-play) and Matt Mattia (color) announcing and can be heard on ESPN 1520 and the Varsity Network with Jack Kreuzer on the call.
This is the 35th overall meeting between Buffalo and St. Bonaventure with the Bonnies owning a narrow 18-16 series advantage. UB has won eight of the last 10 meetings, most recently a 78-69 win at Alumni Arena last season.
Buffalo picked up its second straight Big 4 win with a dominant 86-53 win at Niagara on Tuesday night. Four Bulls scored in double figures, led by senior guard Terah Harness who had a breakthrough performance with a game-high 23 points on an efficient 62% shooting night. Sophomore Kirsten Lewis-Williams scored 16 points, including a stellar 8-for-8 performance from the free throw line, and Chellia Watson added 13 points. Sophomore Alexis Davis recorded her first double-double of the season with 12 points and a career-high 18 rebounds.
The Bulls have four players averaging in double figures on the season, led by Watson who is averaging 19.8 points per game. Lewis-Williams (12.3 ppg) and Harness (12.0) are also averaging in double figures while Noelani Cornfield is averaging 11.0 points per contest while leading the team in assists (33). Davis is leading the team in rebounding, averaging just under a double-double with 9.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
As a team, the Bulls lead the league in scoring offense (80.7), scoring margin (+26.0), field goal percentage (.466), field goal defense (.365), assists (93) and turnover margin (+11.2) while also ranking in the top three in scoring defense (56.3), 3FG defense (.235), rebounding (39.4), rebound margin (+7.7), steals per game (11.0) and free throw percentage (.753).
The St. Bonaventure Bonnies are 2-4 overall after falling to Loyola (MD) 60-42 on Wednesday. The Bonnies were picked to finish 14th in the Atlantic 10 preseason coaches poll. They return four of their top four scorers from a season ago while welcoming nine newcomers, including three transfers and six freshmen. Redshirt senior guard Dani Haskell leads the Bonnies offensively as she is averaging 16.0 points per game while Isabellah Middleton (10.2 ppg) is also scoring in double figures while leading the team in rebounding (4.5 rpg) and steals (14).
As a team, the Bonnies rank fourth in the A-10 in turnovers per game, committing 14.8 per contest. Bona's is also taking advantage of its opportunities at the free throw line as they rank fourth free throw percentage (.767). SBU has an international flare to their roster as they boast seven international students from Canada to Australia.
Up next, Buffalo will open the month of December with three home games, beginning on Wednesday, December 4 as they take on Binghamton in a 6pm contest at Alumni Arena.
