Bulls Close Out Cross Country Season at NCAA Northeast Regionals

NORTH HOPKINTON, N.H. – The University at Buffalo cross country team participated in the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Friday afternoon in North Hopkinton State Park in New Hampshire. The Buffalo men finished 23rd of 38 teams in the region, as the women finished 34th of 39 programs.
Jacob Brink headlined for the men, placing 53rd and missing a top 50 finish in the field of 256 student-athletes by three seconds. Brink's time of 31:11.80 was a new personal record for the 10k distance, beating his previous record by over a minute (32:15.8). Matt Gensel was the second runner to place for the men, taking 108th with a time of 32:06.29. Evan Hilbert (112th, 32:08.21), Gabriel Cornfield (186th, 33:14.28) and Luke Stoeffler (214th, 33:45.11) rounded out the Buffalo top five.
On the women's side, Bronagh Cassidy was the Bulls' top finisher. Cassidy set a new personal best 6k time of 22:09.05, beating her previous record of 22:11.1. Lacey Danilovitz was the second Buffalo runner to place with a time of 22:44.80. Eliza Medearis (181st, 22:55.26), Alexandra Cowley (234th, 23:36.37) and Brianna Urban (247th, 23:36.37) rounded out the Bulls top five.

Buffalo Cross Country and Track & Field will now turn their attention to the indoor track and field season, with the Bulls opening the indoor action on December 6th. A full schedule can be found here.
