Bulls Stumble Against Bowling Green

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (10-11, 6-2 MAC) fell to the Bowling Green Falcons (11-8, 6-2 MAC) on Thursday evening which resulted in their first home loss of the season (19-25, 18-25, 16-25).
The Bulls looked to break their 11-match losing streak to the Falcons on Thursday, but with a struggling offense, the Bulls fell short. On the night, the Bulls hit .030 to the Falcons' .270. Bowling Green totaled 50.0 points as Buffalo finished with just 34.0. Buffalo had 25 attack errors to Bowling Green's 11.
The Bulls took a 4-1 lead in the first and held the lead until the Falcons tied the set at 10. At the media timeout, Buffalo led, 15-13. Bowling Green shut the Bulls down as they closed the set on a 12-4 run.
In the second set, Buffalo got off to a nice start as they forced a Bowling Green timeout leading 8-3. Out of the timeout, Bowling Green went on an 11-3 run to force the Bulls to call a timeout trailing, 15-11. Bowling Green won the set, 25-18.
In the third set, the Falcons were once again the first to call a timeout as they trailed 10-8. The momentum shifted towards Bowling Green as they then stopped the Bulls' offense. Buffalo hit. -.094 in the set as the Falcons won, 25-16.
The Bulls are back in action tomorrow against the Toledo Rockets (13-7, 6-2 MAC). The match will start at 6 p.m. in Alumni Arena.
