Kwak Earns MAC Diver of the Week Honors To Open 24-25 Season

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Marialis Kwak of the University at Buffalo swimming & diving team earned Mid-American Conference Diver of the Week honors for the first time in her career, following her first-place performances in the one and three-meter dives against Cornell on Saturday.
Kwak, the 2023-2024 MAC Diver of the Year, picked up where she left off last season in the diving well in the Bulls' season opener. The seniors' scores in the one-meter (306.38) and three-meter (300.15) already qualify her for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in the spring, reaching the honor in Buffalo's first meet this season. Kwak participated at the Zone Diving Championships last season, later qualifying for NCAA Championships in both the one-meter (3rd, 586.75) and the three-meter (2nd, 626.15). The senior also took gold in both diving events at MAC Championships last year, winning the three-meter with a score of 312.65 and the one-meter with a score of 313.00.
Kwak and the Bulls continue their season at home on Saturday, October 26th at 11 am as they host Eastern Michigan. A complete schedule of competitions for Buffalo Swimming & Diving can be found here. The Bulls will host MAC Championships in the Alumni Arena Natatorium later this season.
