Bulls Back on the Road at Eastern Michigan

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (2-16, 1-5 MAC) will travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. to play the Eastern Michigan Eagles (8-11, 1-6 MAC) on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The matchup between the Bulls and Eagles can be seen on ESPN+. Over on the Varsity Network App and on 1520 Buffalo/1280 Rochester AM, Josh Whetzel will be on the call.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls are coming off an 87-59 home loss to the Ball State Cardinals on Tuesday evening. In the loss, Sy Chatman led all players with 27 points. Ryan Sabol had a game-high five assists as Jonnivius Smith and Chatman each finished with seven rebounds. Chatman made a career-high four three-pointers in the game.
ABOUT THE SERIES
The Bulls lead all-time series against the Eagles, 21-12 (.636). In just conference play, Buffalo leads the series, 21-9 (.700). The Bulls have four straight against Eastern Michigan including a 102-97 shootout last season on Feb. 7, 2023. Buffalo has won nine of the last 10 meetings.

The fifth year forward has also averages 6.6 rebounds per game which is seventh in the MAC. During MAC play, Chatman's 20.3 points per game is third behind Bowling Green's Marcus Hill (23.0) and Northern Illinois's David Coit (22.8).
• Jonnivius Smith leads the team with 9.0 rebounds per game, which ranks 48th in the NCAA and third in the MAC behind Akron's Enrique Freeman (12.9) and Bowling Green's Rashaun Agee (9.2).
• Sy Chatman has scored 20+ in eight of the last 11 games. Over the course of those games, he's averaged 20.82 points per game including three double-doubles.
• In MAC play, Isaiah Adams averages 4.0 assists per game, good for fifth in the conference.
• Freshman Ryan Sabol leads the team with 32 made three-pointers on the season.
