Bulls Host Binghamton, DePaul, and Montana at UB Invite

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (3-0, 0-0 MAC) will host the UB Invite starting Thursday in Alumni Arena. The Bulls will welcome the Binghamton Bearcats (3-0, 0-0 AEC), DePaul Blue Demons (0-2, 0-0 BIG EAST), and the Montana Grizzlies (0-3, 0-0 Big Sky). This will mark the first time the Bulls will face the Blue Demons and Grizzles, as they hold a 9-3 record against the Bearcats. Last season, the Bulls finished 2-1 at their invite.
The Bulls are coming off a weekend sweep at the UAB Invitational in Birmingham, Ala. This marks the first time since 2018 that the team has started the season 3-0. The last time the Bulls were 4-0 was in 2013 when they were 12-0 to start the season.
On the attack, Courtney Okwara is seventh in the NCAA with a hitting percentage of .595. Mandy Leigh keeps climbing the record books in career assists. Last weekend she passed Candi Simms (1993-96) for seventh in all-time assists with 2,422 assists. She ranks 50th in the country with 104 assists on the young season.
The Bulls' defense has been tough to get by. They've limited their opponents to a hitting percentage of just .137 and forcing 71 errors. The defense ranks 52nd in the NCAA in opponent attack percentage. Abby Leigh has managed to rack up 13 blocks, good for 1.08 blocks per set.
