Bulls to Host UB Alumni Invitational on Saturday

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo track and field team will host the UB Alumni Invitational on Saturday, April 22 at UB Stadium. The meet is set to kick off at 10:30 a.m. with the women's shot put and the men's hammer throw. The track events will begin at noon with the 3000-meter steeplechase.

The Bulls competed at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic last weekend. On Saturday, Christina Wende and Evan Hilbert both set school records in their respective events.
In the women's long jump, Wende leaped to a mark of 20'5.25", breaking Fatimah Hill's 2009 mark of 20'3". Her mark ranks 2nd in the MAC and 23rd in the NCAA East Region.
In the seeded men's 1500-meter run, Hilbert recorded a dominating win, setting a new school record in 3:42.64. His record breaks Brian Crimmins' 3:42.66, a record that has stood since 2016. Hilbert's time ranks 31st in the NCAA East Region and 2nd in the MAC.
In the women's high jump on Sunday, Zaria Fuller cleared a season's best height of 5'8.00", tying for 1st place, a mark that ranks 2nd in the MAC and ties for 38th in the NCAA East Region.
In the women's hammer throw, Imahni Sinclair placed 2nd in 177-7, a season's best mark that moves her to 3rd in the MAC. In the Men's Shot Put, Jonathan Surdej capped his 6-throw series with a best throw of 5'0.75", placing 2nd overall. Chineme Ononiwu claimed 2nd in the men's 110-meter hurdles in 14.31.
