Bulls Travel to Muncie to Face the Cardinals

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (10-25, 4-7 MAC) is set to play the Ball State Cardinals (18-21, 8-9 MAC) in a three-game series this weekend on the road. The series opens up with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m. The series will wrap up on Sunday at noon as Ball State celebrates their senior day.
Buffalo enters the weekend with a 10-25 overall record and 4-7 in MAC play. The Bulls were swept by the Akron Zips during their midweek series. The Bulls are being led offensively by freshman Abbey Nagel, who is batting .273 with 30 hits. Alexis Lucyshyn has four home runs with Sara Kelly adding three. Madison Fernimen (14), Kelly (13), and Lucyshyn (11) lead the Bulls with double digit RBIs.
In the circle, Lucyshyn is 6-11 with a 2.77 ERA as she has struck out 121 batters in 108.2 innings pitched. The trio of Lucyshyn, Julia Tarantino, and Emily Watters have combined for a 4.23 ERA and 251 strikeouts.
The Cardinals are coming off a game three win against the Western Michigan Broncos over the weekend. Ball State is 8-9 in MAC play and currently seventh in the standings. Offensively, they're led by Amaia Daniel who holds a .408 batting average and 51 hits on the season. McKayla Timmons has 33 RBIs for the Cardinals. As a team, they've stolen 50 bases on the yar. Angelina Russo leads the team in the circle with a 7-6 record and 3.01 ERA.
Following the series against Ball State, the Bulls will host the Central Michigan Chippewas on April 21 and 22.
