
Bulls Close Out Raleigh Relays with Strong Performances

RALEIGH, N.C. – The University at Buffalo men's and women's track and field teams concluded day two and three of the Raleigh Relays hosted by N.C. State on Friday and Saturday.
ON THE MEN'S SIDE
In the 100-meters, sophomore Jean Desir placed 24th out of 64 competitors with a time of 10.84, the second-fastest time in the MAC. Chineme Ononiwu finished 15th in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.74-seconds, with freshman Michael Parks close behind in 19th with a time of 14.89.
Tal Hamel finished 13th in the 400-meters with a MAC-leading time of 48.12. Hamel also ran a time of 21.91 in the 200-meters on Saturday, with teammate Jaron Meyer finishing in a time of 22.09. In the 4x100-meter relay, the team of Desir, Hamel, Ononiwu, and Meyer finished in 41.93, the third-best time in the MAC.
Evan Hilbert ran a personal-best time of 1:53.06 in the 800-meters.
In the field events, Michael Wolford threw a lifetime best in the discus of 149'0"/45.41-meters, winning his flight and placing 22nd in the 38-man field. His mark ranks sixth in the MAC.
ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE
Scilla Benussi set a personal-best mark in the 100-meter hurdles of 15.17, placing second in her heat. She also recorded a mark of 17'7"/5.36-meters in the long jump. Kaylah Britt leaped to 38'9.5"/11.82-meters in her season opener in the triple jump.
Teasha McKoy placed ninth out of 49 competitors in the discus throw with a mark of 156'2"/47.61-meters. In the hammer throw, Imahni Sinclair threw 53.86-meters/176'8". Both McKoy and Sinclair's marks are second-best in the MAC.
Vassi Klock finished with a time of 2:17.04 in the 800-meters, the 13th-fastest time in the MAC.
