
Bulls Open MAC Play on Friday Against Toledo

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (6-18, 0-0 MAC) is set to open MAC play against the Toledo Rockets (9-12, 2-1 MAC) this weekend. The series will begin on Friday at 11 a.m. Game two of the double header will be at approximately 1 p.m. Game three of the series will be played at 2 p.m. on Saturday. All games will be played at D'Youville's Dobson Field.
Buffalo enters the weekend with a 6-18 record as they dropped two games at St. Bonaventure on Tuesday afternoon. The Bulls are being led offensively by senior Alexis Lucyshyn, who is batting .293 with 22 hits. She's also added a team-high nine RBIs and slugging percentage of .507. Four Bulls have gone hard this season, led by Lucyshyn (3), followed by Abbey Nagel (2), Mia Mitchell (1), Madison Fernimen (1), and Julia Tarantino (1).
In the circle, Lucyshyn is 4-7 with a 2.71 ERA as she has struck out 80 batters in 69.2 innings pitched. Julia Tarantino has appeared in nine games pitching 53.2 innings. Freshman Emily Watters has appeared in eight games including three starts for the Bulls.
The Rockets are coming off a series win against the Bowling Green Falcons over the weekend, taking the series 2-1. The Bulls and Rockets only played one game last season as two games were canceled due to weather in Toledo. The Rockets won the game, 13-3 after five innings. Riley Mohr lead the team with a batting average of .371. Jenna Kroll has batted in 14 runs. Erin Hunt has a 2.34 ERA with 74.2 innings pitched thus far.
