Bulls Drop Opening Day Double Header at Red Raider Classic

LUBBOCK, Texas β The University at Buffalo softball team (5-14, 0-0 MAC) lost both their games to open the Red Raider Classic on Friday. This marked the second time the Bulls played New Mexico and Texas Tech this season, but the Lobos and Red Raiders took both matches.

GAME 1 RECAP VS. NEW MEXICO
The Bulls dropped their rematch against the New Mexico Lobos, 6-0, on Friday morning in their opening game of the Red Raider Classic. The Lobos got on the board early as they scored in the bottom of the first inning. It remained a 1-0 game all the way until the fifth inning when the Lobos added to their total to take a 2-0 lead.

New Mexico's offense exploded in the sixth inning as they scored four runs, taking a 6-0 lead.

Mia Mitchell recorded the Bulls' first hit in the fourth inning on a double. Sara Kelly singled in the fifth as Lily Lauck had a single in the seventh inning. Buffalo could only muster three hits in the contest.

GAME 2 RECAP VS. TEXAS TECH
The Red Raiders defended their home turf as they won 13-0 after five innings. They asserted their dominance as they scored five runs in the first inning. Sara Kelly was the only Bull to get a hit in the game with a leadoff double in the third.

The Bulls are back in action tomorrow as they play New Mexico and Manhattan. Action starts at 11 a.m. ET.
