Bulls Lose in Extra Innings Against Army West Point

Brianna Castro put the Bulls on the board with an RBI single with Tianna Williams scoring to make it a 2-1 Army lead in the second inning. The Bulls would then take a 3-2 lead in the third inning as Julia Tarantino singled up the middle allowing Alexis Lucyshyn and Madison Fernimen to score.
Fernimen homered in the fourth to add to Buffalo's lead. Castro hit in Kate Vara in the fifth on a fielder's choice to give the Bulls a 5-2 lead headed to the sixth inning.
Army scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh the tie the game at five. The Bulls had no answer in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off win.
The Black Knights scored six runs in the top of the eighth to take an 11-5 lead. The Buffalo defense struggled on the day as they had five errors. Of the 11 runs scored by Army, just one was earned.
The Bulls scored right away in the eighth to make it an 11-6 game. Abbey Nagel singled to score Lyla Ambrose. Lucyshyn had a 2-RBI double scoring Fernimen and Nagel. The Bulls trailed 11-8 with one out. Off a Ti. Williams single, Lucychyn came around to score to cut Army's lead to 11-9. The comeback would fall short as Army hung on to win 11-9.
Tarantino pitched 6.0 innings allowing six hits and five runs, none of her runs were earned. Emily Watters came in relief to for 2.0 innings and took the loss. She gave up four hits, six runs, and the only earned run of the day for the Bulls.
The Bulls are back in action tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET against Army West Point and will then play Jacksonville State at 12:30 p.m. ET to wrap up this weekend's tournament.
