
Bulls Drop MAC Battle Against Toledo

BUFFALO, NY- The University at Buffalo women's tennis team dropped its contest against the Toledo Rockets on Friday afternoon, 4-3. UB took the early doubles point, but the Rockets clinched the match with a strong showing in singles.
In doubles action, Buffalo got started at third doubles as Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou and Gabriella Akopyan won 6-3. UB then clinched the doubles point with a win at first doubles, courtesy of Pia Schwarz and Azra Deniz Comlek, a 6-4 triumph.
Toledo got on the board with a straight sets win at two, but Akopyan put UB back in front with a 6-2, 6-2 win at three. The Rockets then grabbed the next three match at six, four, and ultimately one to clinch the match.
UB was able to claim the final singles contest of the afternoon in a third set super tiebreaker at fifth singles. Comlek won her opening set 6-4 before dropping the second set 7-5. In the third, Comlek dominated, en route to the 10-4 win.
The Bulls are back in action Sunday at Bowling Green.
