
Bulls Host Eastern Michigan on Wednesday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team will play its third game in five days as they host Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, February 7 at 7pm. It is National Girls and Women in Sports Day at Alumni Arena, sponsored by Audubon Women's Medical Associates, and is also the team's Pink Game.
The game will be streamed on ESPN3 with Paul Peck (play-by-play) and Brian Koziol (color) announcing and can be heard on the radio on ESPN 1520 AM or on the Varsity Network with Matt Mattia on the call.
This is the 30th meeting between Buffalo and Eastern Michigan, with the Eagles owning the 15-14 series edge. UB is 9-2 against EMU in the Coach Jack era. The Bulls defeated the Eagles 69-62 at the Convocation Center last week.
Buffalo is 15-7 overall and 9-3 in league play after defeating Western Michigan 71-64 at Alumni Arena on Monday. Freshman guard Georgia Woolley led all scorers with 21 points to go with six rebounds and four steals. Junior Dyaisha Fair scored 18 points while dishing out seven assists and recording five steals and Summer Hemphill recorded her second straight double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds while also tying a career-high with five steals. Junior Dominique Camp flirted with a triple double as the junior scored eight points while pulling down a career-high nine rebounds and adding seven assists.
Fair leads the Bulls and ranks seventh in the nation in scoring at 22.1 points per game. Summer Hemphill is averaging just under a double-double with 14.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game while Woolley has scored in double figures in 16 of the last 17 games and is averaging 13.5 points per game, the best amongst all rookies in the league. Buffalo is distributing the basketball at an excellent clip, averaging 15.5 assists per game and a 1.1 assist-to-turnover ratio, both ranking in the top 50 nationally while also ranking 51st with a +3.4 turnover margin. That leads to a potent offense which ranks 27th in the nation in scoring (75.0 ppg). The Bulls are ranked 73rd in the latest NET rankings. They are also ranked 23rd in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
Eastern Michigan enters Wednesday's contest with a 5-13 overall record and 2-9 league mark after falling to Kent State 70-61 on Saturday. The Eagles are led offensively by Areanna Combs who is averaging 18.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Ce'Nara Skanes (12.6 ppg, 8.1 rpg) and Danielle Rainey (11.0 ppg, 2.7 rig) are also averaging in double figures. Skanes became the program leader with 18 career double-doubles and Combs set a single-game program record with 19 made free throws, both in the win over Miami (OH). Eastern has found success at the charity stripe this season as they rank fourth and third, respectively, in the MAC in free throws made (244) and free throws attempted (356). Additionally, EMU has been tremendous at taking care of the basketball, ranking third in the league and 18th nationally in fewest turnovers (256).
Up next, Buffalo will travel to DeKalb, IL on Saturday, February 12, for a clash with the Northern Illinois Huskies. Tipoff at the Convocation Center is set for 2pm.
