Bulls Sweep St. Bonaventure For First Win Of The Year

OLEAN, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team scored a 7-0 victory at St. Bonaventure on Saturday afternoon, picking up their first win of the year. The Bulls won all six singles matches, while claiming two of the three contests in doubles.
Cheng Tang and Yu-Shiang Huang dominated their match at second doubles, 6-0, while Finn Macnamara and Greg Hastings scored a 6-3 victory to clinch the point.
In singles action, Simon Wibler picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at first singles, while Tang scored a 6-3, 7-5 victory at number two. Macnamara also won in straight sets with a 6-1, 6-2 victory and Daniils Snaiders won 6-4, 6-0 at four.
Huang continued the sweep with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-2 victory at fifth singles and Hastings won at sixth singles, 6-2, 6-4.
"It feels good to get a win," said head coach Lee Nickell. "We did an excellent job today capturing momentum in singles, made serves in pressure situations and took chances at the right time. Today reinforced that what we are doing on a weekly basis is working. We look forward to playing Cleveland state next weekend!"
The Bulls and the Vikings will face off next Saturday at 2:00 pm.
