Bulls Fall to Bowling Green on Saturday Night

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (17-12, 9-8 MAC) fell to the Bowling Green Falcons (19-9, 14-3 MAC) on Saturday evening.
The Bulls dropped the match in straight sets, 20-25, 20-25, 22-25. There were 15 ties and five lead changes in the match. The Falcons outhit the Bulls, .235 to .175 as each team racked up 43 kills.
UB gave the Falcons a run for their money in every set. The Bulls crawled back in the first set to make it 19-21 and in the second set they made it a 15-17 game. Bowling Green capitalized on Buffalo's 22 attack errors and five service errors.
Buffalo held a 21-18 lead in the third set to force a Bowling Green timeout. The Falcons then forced the Bulls to take a timeout as they were down one, 22-21. Out of the timeout, the Falcons took a 23-22 lead after a UB attack error and setting error. Bowling Green would then get the final two points to win the match.
Mandy Leigh added 31 assists, bringing her career total to 2,193. Emma Gielas (11), Katrin Trebichavska (10), and Courtney Okwara (10) each finished with double figure kills.
The Bulls will close out the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 16 when the face the Akron Zips on Senior Night.
