Bulls Lose Nailbiter at Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (10-8, 2-4 MAC) dropped their match against the Toledo Rockets (11-5, 4-1 MAC) on Friday evening.
The Bulls battled until the end in the four-set match, 22-25, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25.
Despite the loss, it was an extremely close match until the bitter end. There were 32 ties and 15 lead changes in the match, both of which are highs on the season for UB. Offense was a struggle for both teams as Toledo had a hitting percentage of .167 and the Bulls finished at .171. In the second set UB was down 11-4, yet found a way to take the set, 25-23. The Bulls had 11 kills in the set and forced 11 attacking errors by the Rockets. Toledo finished the set with a .000 hitting percentage.
Cali Assaley had a match high 15 kills with Stacia Gollogly finishing with nine.
Mandy Leigh added 37 set assists to her season total.
At the net, the Bulls came up strong finishing with 12.0 blocks. Courtney Okwara led the again for the Bulls as she finished with 7.0 blocks. Abby Leigh finished with 5.0 with M. Leigh having 3.0.
The Bulls are back in action on tomorrow at 6 p.m. as the team travels to Muncie, Ind. to play Ball State.
