Bulls Host Kent State for Pivotal MAC East Clash

BUFFALO, N.Y. β University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (11-10, 3-6 MAC) will host the Kent State Golden Flashes (12-8, 3-6 MAC) this Thursday and Friday at Alumni Arena. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ and begin at 6 p.m.

Currently, the Bulls and Golden Flashes are on the outside looking in for a spot in the MAC Tournament. UB is ninth with Kent State just ahead in eighth in the MAC standings. This matchup will have a crucial impact on both teams' chances of making the MAC Tournament as the top-6 teams will advance.
These two home games will begin a large home stand for the Bulls as seven of their final nine games will be at Alumni Arena.Β

In some midweek MACtion last night, Kent State lost in five sets against the Ohio Bobcats to fall to 3-6 in conference play. Kent State has racked up conference wins against Miami (OH), Eastern Michigan, and Akron.

Katin Trebichavska leads the Bulls with 206 kills on the season. Abby Leigh is second on the team with 183 kills with an overall hitting percentage of .382. A. Leigh has stacked up 258.0 points this season, good for 3.35 points per set, good for second on the team behind Trebichavska (3.46). At the net, A. Leigh has been a force to be reckoned with. She is 53rd in the NCAA and 1st in the MAC with 85 total blocks. Middle blocker Courtney Okwara has dominated as of late as she leads the Bulls with a .387 overall hitting percentage. Libero Maria Futey has 220 digs on the season with 2.86 digs per set. Mandy Leigh continues to rack up assists as she's up to 681 (10.48 assists per set). M. Leigh is 34th in the NCAA and 4th in the MAC in assists per set.
