NEW HAVEN, CT – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team again faced another Ivy League powerhouse as the Bulls lost to Yale on Friday afternoon, 7-0.
The Bulls hung tough in doubles, picking up a win at third doubles as Finn Macnamara and Greg Hastings won, 6-2. The point came down to second doubles, which was a tight contest that went to the tiebreaker. Yu-Shiang Huang and Cheng Tang came up just short though, losing 7-6.
The Bulls went to a third set in two of the six singles matches as both Tang and Huang picked up a set. Tang, playing at second singles, won the first set in a tiebreaker 7-6, but then dropped the next two sets, including the third which was just played as a super tiebreaker.
Huang also won his opening set with a 6-2 victory at fifth singles, but he dropped the last two sets, 6-4, 6-3, respectively.
