
Bulls Host Kent State on Monday

BUFFALO, NY – After an extended break, the University at Buffalo women's basketball team returns to action on Monday, January 17 when they welcome Kent State to Alumni Arena at 5pm. It is the first of three games for UB this week and is also Alzheimer's Awareness Day at Alumni Arena.
The game will be streamed on ESPN3 with Paul Peck (play-by-play) and Matt Mattia (color) announcing and can be heard on the radio on ESPN 1520 AM or on the Varsity Network with Bob Gaughan on the call.
Buffalo is 9-4 overall and 3-0 in league play after defeating Bowling Green 82-66 at the Stroh Center on January 5th. Junior guard Dyaisha Fair scored a career-high 40 points on a career-best 14 made field goals, including 6-of-10 shooting from behind the arc. Her 40 points are the fifth-most in a single game in all of Division I women's basketball this season and ranks second in program history. Summer Hemphill recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds while also tying a career-high with four blocked shots and Dominique Camp scored in double figures for the second straight game with 11 points.
Fair leads the Bulls and ranks fourth in the nation in scoring at 23.6 points per game. Hemphill is averaging just under a double-double with 16.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while Georgia Woolley has scored in double figures in seven of the last eight games and is averaging 9.5 points per game. The Bulls are ranked 55th in the latest NET rankings, the highest of any MAC schools. They are also ranked 14th in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
Kent State enters Saturday's contest with a 10-5 overall record and 2-4 league mark after defeating Eastern Michigan 83-58 on Saturday. The Golden Flashes are led offensively by Lindsey Thall who is averaging 13.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Casey Santoro (12.9 ppg, 3.8 apg) and Katie Shumate (12.5 ppg, 3.6 rpg) are also averaging in double figures. The Golden Flashes lead the MAC and rank 15th in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (37.4) and three-point field goals made per game (9.0) while also ranking 24th in three-point field goals made (135). They have made 10+ triples seven times this season. Kent State is also third in the MAC in rebounding (40.6) and have outrebounded every opponent this season. They lead the MAC and rank 21st in the nation in rebounding margin (8.9).
