
Cross Country Heads to Boston for the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's cross country team will travel to Boston, Mass. for the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown hosted by Boston College. The men's 8k race will step off at 3:30 p.m. in the historic Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
Coming off a third place finish at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational, the men come into this weekend ranked 14th in the USTFCCCA Northeast Region in Division I. The team will face tough competition as Boston College, Albany, Arkansas, Army, Boston University, Brown, Columbia, Connecticut, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, Maine, UMass, UMass Lowell, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Providence, Rhode Island, Santa Clara, Syracuse, and Yale will participate at this year's event.
This will be the second week in a row that the team will race in an 8k. Sophomore Evan Hilbert led the Bulls with a 15th place finish with a time of 26:09.1 last Saturday. Oscar Vazquez was not far behind as he claimed 17th place in 26:13.7. Freshman Cory Demo finished in 24th place in 26:18.8. Nicholas Taboni (32nd place, 26:39.6) and freshman Matthew Persampieri (40th place, 26:55.3) were the final two to cap off the Bulls' top-five finishers. Sophomores Brett Russell and Zachary Medicis finished in 45th and 99th, respectively, as freshman Justin Tedeschi finished in 57th.
