
Volleyball Continues Season At Alabama Invite

TUSCALOOSA, AL – The University at Buffalo volleyball team returns to action this weekend as they head to the Alabama Invite for three matches. The Bulls will first face Southern Mississippi on Friday at 11am, followed by the host Crimson Tide at 7pm. UB will conclude action on Saturday at 11am against Troy.
The Bulls are 1-2 following the opening weekend of play, going to five sets in two of their first three matches. Buffalo came away with a 3-2 win over UConn in the weekend finale, while also playing five sets against ACC foe Syracuse.
Sophomore Milla Malik, who was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Syracuse Invite, leads Buffalo in kills during the first weekend as she averaged 3.31 per set. Junior Abby Leigh was second on the team with 27 kills.
Abby's sister Mandy Leigh made her college debut last weekend at setter, finishing with 93. She was one of three freshmen who made their Buffalo debuts last weekend. Outside hitter Maria Futey had 15 kills over the weekend, while Hannah Jacoby player in two matches, including starting at libero in the win over UConn.
Southern Mississippi enters the weekend undefeated with a 4-0 record, while Alabama is also perfect on the year at 3-0. Troy split its first two contests of the year, losing to Ole Miss before defeating UAB.
