Bulls Travel to Ohio For Final Road Series This Weekend

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo softball team wraps up the road portion of their schedule with a four-game series at Ohio this weekend.
Due to forecasted inclement weather in Athens on Sunday the weekend will begin with a doubleheader at 3pm/5pm on Friday and will conclude with a doubleheader at 1pm/3pm on Saturday.
The Bulls are coming off a series split with Northern Illinois last weekend. Buffalo took the first two games of the series, including a one-hit shutout gem by Ally Marcano in game two, before dropping the final two games of the series. UB hit seven home runs over the first three games before seeing an incredible 14-game home run streak come to an end in the series finale. The Bulls have hit a single-season record 52 home runs off the bats of nine different players.
Buffalo is being led at the plate by senior Anna Aguon who owns a .364 batting average to go with a team-best 47 hits, eight doubles, 12 home runs, 29 RBI and 33 runs scored, while also recording a .721 slugging percentage and .468 on base percentage. Freshman Rachel Steffan is batting .310 with 35 hits, four doubles, four home runs, 20 RBI and 22 runs scored while recording a .474 on base percentage and junior Alexis Matheney is batting is batting .286 with 36 hits, four doubles, seven home runs, 26 RBI and 27 runs scored. Marcano leads UB in the circle with an 8-10 overall record, 5.82 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 102.0 innings of work. Sophomore Alexis Lucyshyn owns a 5-8 overall record and has a 6.60 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 75.0 innings pitched.
Ohio enters the weekend with an 18-19 overall record and a 14-14 league mark after splitting a midweek doubleheader against Akron on April 28th. The Bobcats are led offensively by Allie Englant who is batting .385 with 50 hits, four doubles, nine RBI, 23 runs scored and a team-best 25 stolen bases while recording a .478 on base percentage. Annalia Paoli is batting .339 with a 39 hits, six doubles, two triples, two home runs, 22 RBI and 17 runs scored. Mackenzie Kohl leads Ohio in the circle, compiling a 9-9 overall record with a 4.42 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 109.3 innings of work. Madi McCrady is 8-7 on the year with a 4.61 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 103.1 innings pitched.
