
Bulls Host Bowling Green This Weekend

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo softball team hosts Bowling Green in a four-game series at Nan Harvey Field this weekend.
The weekend will begin with a 3pm game on Friday followed by a doubleheader at 1pm/3pm on Saturday. The weekend will conclude with a 12pm game on Sunday.
The Bulls dropped a pair of games in a midweek doubleheader at Syracuse on Tuesday.
Buffalo is being led at the plate by senior Anna Aguon who owns a .290 batting average to go with a team-best 20 hits, four doubles, four home runs, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored, while also recording a .551 slugging percentage and .410 on base percentage. Freshman Rachel Steffan is batting .279 with 17 hits, two doubles, three home runs, 12 RBI and 13 runs scored with a .460 on base percentage and junior Alexis Matheney is batting .271 with 19 hits, three doubles, a home run, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored. Graduate student Ally Marcano leads UB in the circle with an 8.04 ERA and 48 batters to just 29 walks in 56.0 innings of work. Sophomore Madelyn Hickingbottom has recorded 23 strikeouts across 42.1 innings of work and freshman Julia Tarantino has a 6.38 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 11 appearances.
Bowling Green enters the weekend with a 14-13 overall record and 6-6 league mark after completing a four-game sweep of Akron last weekend. The Falcons are led offensively by Madi McCoy who is batting .358 with 29 hits, including eight doubles and two home runs, 18 RBI and 19 runs scored while recording a .556 slugging and .413 on base percentage. Greta L'Esperance is batting .347 with a team-best 33 hits, three doubles, two RBI and a team-best 20 runs scored. Payton Gottshall leads Bowling Green in the circle, compiling a 10-5 overall record with a 1.56 ERA and 165 strikeouts to just 13 walks in 94.1 innings of work.
Following weekend play, Buffalo will travel to Oxford, Ohio for a four-game series with the Miami (OH) RedHawks beginning Friday, April 16 at 3pm.
