
Bulls Travel To Miami (OH) For Weekend Series With RedHawks

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo softball team travels to Oxford, Ohio for a four-game series against the Miami (OH) RedHawks at the Miami Softball Complex this weekend.
The weekend will begin with a 3pm game on Friday followed by a doubleheader at 1pm/3pm on Saturday. The weekend will conclude with a 12pm game on Sunday.
The Bulls are coming off a solid performance in which they took three of four games from Bowling Green at Nan Harvey Field last weekend. Buffalo swept the Friday doubleheader by a score of 5-4 in both games and took game three 7-2 before dropping the series finale. Senior Anna Aguon and sophomore Alexis Lucyshyn led UB with five hits each. Lucyshyn enters this weekend's series on a 10-game hit streak.
Buffalo is being led at the plate by Aguon who owns a .316 batting average to go with a team-best 25 hits, five doubles, five home runs, 16 RBI and 16 runs scored, while also recording a .595 slugging percentage and .438 on base percentage. Lucyshyn is batting .293 with 24 hits, a team-best seven home runs and 21 RBI and 13 runs scored while recording a .561 slugging percentage and junior Alexis Matheney is batting .282 with 22 hits, three doubles, two home runs, 14 RBI and 15 runs scored. Lucyshn also leads UB in the circle with a 2-2 overall record, 5.97 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 34.2 innings of work. Graduate student Ally Marcano leads has a 4-9 overall record and 7.06 ERA with 58 batters to just 36 walks in 65.0 innings of work.
Miami (OH) enters the weekend with a 22-6 overall record and a perfect 12-0 league mark after completing a four-game sweep of Akron last weekend. The RedHawks are led offensively by Allie Cummins who is batting .479 with 35 hits, including 11 doubles, nine home runs, 31 RBI and 31 runs scored while recording a 1.000 slugging and .610 on base percentage. Karli Spaid is batting .388 with a 26 hits, six doubles, five home runs, 21 RBI and 30 runs scored while also compiling a .761 slugging and .461 on base percentage. Courtney Vierstra leads Miami in the circle, compiling a 12-2 overall record with a 2.33 ERA and 126 strikeouts to just 24 walks in 78.0 innings of work while Brianna Pratt is 6-3 overall with a 2.32 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 63.1 innings pitched.
Following weekend play, Buffalo will travel to Kent, Ohio for a midweek doubleheader against the Golden Flashes on Tuesday, April 20 at 1pm.
