
Emma Gielas Earns Final MAC East Offensive Player of the Week Honor

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo sophomore right side Emma Gielas was named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Friday. Gielas had a career night as she led the Bulls to a 3-1 victory at Akron in the final match of the year.
Gielas tied her career high with 21 kills, and she had just one hitting error all night on 41 attempts, hitting a team-best .488. Her best set came in the second when she had six kills on seven swings.
Gielas finishes the year second on the team in kills with 288. She scored double figures in kills in 11 of the final 12 matches, including at least 17 kills five times.
It was the second time this season that Gielas has been named the offensive player of the week and the third in her young career. In all, the Bulls were honored eight times with weekly honors over the course of this season.
