Bulls Fall To Toledo

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team lost to Toledo on Friday night, 3-0. Friday night's match began a five-match homestand for the Bulls. With the loss UB drops to 9-8 on the year and 2-3 in league play.
The Rockets took the contest 25-21, 25-12, 25-15 as Toledo hit .385 for the contest opposed to just .172 for the Bulls. Buffalo had its best chance in the first set as the Bulls hit .364 and had the match tied late at 18-18. Toledo scored the next three points en route to the 25-21 win. The Rockets then took the final two sets with ease.
Sophomore Milla Malik led the Bulls with 11 kills and just one error as she hit .370 for the match. Freshman Maria Futey added six kills and hit .278. Olivia DeBortoli finished with five kill and Courtney Okwara and Emma Gielas each added four kills.
Freshman Mandy Leigh had 25 assists and a service ace. As a team, the Bulls finished with four aces, led by two from Paige Beck.
Defensively, Leigh led the way with nine digs, while Futey added eight. Senior Kyndal Bacon chipped in six digs.
The Bulls return home tomorrow when they host Ball State at 4pm.
