BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches for their academic success during the 2019-20 academic year. The Bulls were one of 556 college women's programs named as a recipient of the Team Academic Award, earning the honor for the ninth straight season.
"I am really proud of our group, especially during these trying times," said Burke. "For their worlds to be flipped upside down and still focus on their performance in the classroom says a lot about the character of this group."
Buffalo earned a team GPA of 3.40 for the 2019-20 season and were one of six MAC teams honored with the academic award and one of five MAC schools to earn the award nine straight seasons.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2019-20 academic year.
