BUFFALO, NY β The University at Buffalo volleyball recruiting class is one of 40 programs to earn honorable mention status from Prepvolleyball.com, the website announced this week.Β Overall, this ranks the recruiting class as one of the top 100 in the nation.
UB is one of three programs in the Mid-American Conference on the list joining Ball State and Western Michigan.Β The recruiting rankings only take into consideration those that will be playing their first year of collegiate volleyball out of high schools so international players and transfers are not included in the rankings.
Five first year players are joining the Buffalo program this upcoming season, in addition to transfer setter Kyndal Bacon, who as mentioned earlier was not factored into these rankings.Β Two of the first year players had joined the program this spring and practiced with the program before the COVID-19 situation canceled the remainder of spring practice.Β Those two freshmen were Lauren Valentic, a 6-2 middle blocker out of Canonsburg, PA and Milla Malik, a 5-9 outside hitter from Waunakee, WI.
Three more players are set to join the program prior to the fall season. Emilie Davis is a 5-7 defensive specialist from Oceanside, CA.Β She will join Emma Gielas a 6-0 right side from Loveland, OH and Stacia Gollogly, a 6-1 outside hitter and right side from Boonsboro, MD.
In addition to the six newcomers to this year's program, the Bulls will have nine players returning from the 2019 team.
