Victoria Franz Named MAC Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday afternoon that freshman diver Victoria Franz has been named the MAC Swim and Dive Athlete of the Week.
Victoria Franz won both the 1 and 3-meter dives as the University at Buffalo swimming and diving team hosted the Akron Zips and Duquesne Dukes on Saturday afternoon. Her score of 308.65 in the 3-meter dive marked the freshman's fourth score over 300 points on the season in the event. To top her day off, she scored a 302.65 in the 1-meter dive. Her wins in the diving well were crucial in UB's 146.5-133 win over the preseason MAC favorite Akron Zips. The Bulls also captured a 223-57 win over Duquesne.
This marks Franz's first MAC Athlete of the Week honor.
Buffalo returns back to the pool on Wednesday, Feb. 26 for the Mid-American Conference Championships.
