
Track and Field to Compete at Kent State

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo track and field team will travel to Kent, Ohio for the Doug Raymond National Qualifier hosted by Kent State University. The meet is set to start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
There will be 20 schools competing at this year's Doug Raymond National Qualifier including Ashland, Chatham, Cleveland State, Glenville State, Lake Erie, Pittsburgh, Slippery Rock, West Liberty, West Virginia Liberty Wesleyan, Wheeling, Wright State, Youngstown State, Bucknell, Denison, Duquesne and Malone. Including UB, there are three other MAC schools competing which include Akron, Kent State and Ohio who will all look to improve before the Mid-American Conference Championships in two weeks.

The Bulls will head back to Akron, Ohio for the Zips Invite which will be held on Friday, Feb. 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the Stile Athletics Field House. This will be the Bulls' last meet before the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships which will be held at the Stile Athletics Field House from Friday, Feb. 28 through Saturday, Feb. 29.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Bulls showed their dominance in the 5,000 meter run as their cross country talents shined. The trio of Meghan LaTuso (third place – 17:47.48), Riley Jones (fourth place – 17:49.71) and Alexia Hecico (10th place – 18:31.95) finished in the top-10. Only UB and Dayton had three runners finish in the top-10.
- In the men's gold mile, Caleb Covell (fifth place – 4:13.94) and Cal Puskar (seventh place –4:13.30) moved into UB's all-time top-10 list in the indoor one mile race.
- The UB men's A-team of Alex Hislop, Leon Atkins, Patrick Hazlitt and Louis Greco claimed second place in the distance medley relay in 10:22.57.
- Selina Von Jackowski continued her dominance in the 60-meter hurdles as she won in a time of 8.54 seconds.
- Anthony Clark took second place on the men's side in a time of 8.05 seconds.
- Asia Hoyte threw a personal-record distance of 17.79m/58-04.50 in the weight throw for second place.
- Jeremy Lissade sprinted to a third place finish in the 60-meter dash as he claimed a personal-record of 6.87 seconds.
- Leon Atkins had his season opener in the 800-meter dash as he was just edged out by .05 seconds for second place. Atkins finished in a time of 1:51.36.
